The kolcraft contours options II tandem stroller review
When my son was five months old, I learned that I was pregnant again. Keira was born one day shy of her big brother Aidan’s 13-month birthday. Over the course of my pregnancy, I did a ton of research on tandem strollers. You know – when I wasn’t busy hyperventilating because I was practically having twins.
Obviously, safety was the most important point. But it wasn’t the only point. This was the short list I worked from.
- Ease of transport (into and out of our vehicle)
- Needs to grow with the babies
- Storage space (moms haul a lot more than babies!)
I saved price for last because you really can’t put a price on being able to easily and safely transport your children. I’m a very active mom, I’d go bonkers if I was inside all day, every day. So this is a stroller that gets a lot of use. I need to know that wear-and-tear isn’t going to render my stroller useless. My extensive research finally led me to the kolcraft contours options II tandem stroller.
kolcraft contours options stroller features
The Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem handles very well. I never felt like I was in any danger of tipping it over. The seats are well-secured, and by that I mean 5-point harness (as recommended by experts). I’m not an engineer so I can’t give any real specifics, just my personal experiences and observations.
The kolcraft contours options stroller is well-made. All parts seem to be of good quality, sturdy and strong. In well over two years of active use, we never had a single safety issue with our stroller.
The kolcraft contours options stroller is easy to carry around
This stroller is much easier to work with than the one I had for just Aidan. I thought it wouldn’t be, because of the size. But whoever designed it did an amazing job. It’s tough enough getting two little ones all assembled and out the door without having to fight with an inanimate object. And I can easily haul it up or down a flight of stairs without losing my will to live.
LOVE it. I can steer one-handed! I don’t get an upper body workout trying to go around corners. The wheels are big, and that helps with terrain and steering.
The kolcraft stroller is such a gift, I know I would never recommend any other stroller.
Needs to grow with the babies
The Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem really took the word "Options" to heart. I could have had newborn twins, and this stroller would have worked for us. The stroller accommodates a wide range of car seats, not just brands but sizes. So when Aidan was one, I had his standard seat in front, and Keira’s infant seat in back. She was facing me, he was facing forward. I could have had them facing each other. There are actually six options, and we’ve tried most of them! Now that Aidan’s older, he likes to walk a lot. But we still bring his chair in case he gets tired or needs a nap.
Solid. I like it. I don’t feel like I’m hauling my kids around in a grocery cart. The tandem feels like it has a good center of gravity, which plays into the maneuverability I mentioned earlier. Still, it’s not so heavy that I feel like I’m being punished when I have to get it into or out of the vehicle.
Mad love for the storage space on this baby. They thought of everything! I have an iPod dock on it, several cup holders, an easy-reach tray AND a big basket for storage! I’ve never had this much storage space with a stroller, never mind seen it on a tandem stroller. The Kolcraft creative team really read my mind when they created this one.
I’d love to say money’s no option when it comes to the safety of our children. Thankfully, that’s not an issue here. The Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem is affordable. When I was doing my research I found a tandem stroller for $629. Seriously!? The baby should be included, for that kind of money! The Contours Options is roughly 1/3 the price.
The infant seat isn’t included, so keep that in mind if you’re on a tight budget. Maybe add it to your baby shower wish list.
Play with the kolcraft contours options stroller. There are many options you may not even be aware of. For instance, the footrest is adjustable. This stroller absolutely grows with your children, and fully takes their comfort into consideration.
I always read reviews before making a decision. I want to know that people who actually put out the cash and used the product or service were happy with their decision. Or, you know – not. I seriously weigh and consider the good, the bad and the ugly. If you’ve been doing any great amount of reading stroller reviews, you know some people are just incredibly negative no matter what the subject. My basic thinking is this. Throw out the fringe elements at either end, and you’ll have a pretty solid handle on the truth of the matter.
When I did that with the kolcraft contours options stroller, I came up with a lot of happy parents who would buy the exact same stroller if they had it to do over again, just like me. Read what people are saying about the kolcraft contours options II stroller on Amazon.
